Tomorrow, February 9th, 2009 on the Doctor Ira Breite Show on Sirius 114/XM 119
Its a beautiful day in New York City, proving that Staten Island Chuck is the groundhog to listen too! So, to spite Punxsutawney Phil we are going to have an early Spring show, featuring the things you'll need to take care of as the good weather comes.
First that blood pressure. So confusing to so many people, yet so important. We'll be talking with Dr. Henry Black, the President of the American Society of Hypertension about what those numbers mean, what you can do both medically and lifestyle-wise to get those numbers under control, and even when to look for another cause for the elevated blood pressure. Our phone number is 1-877-NYU-DOCS, where we will be happy to answer YOUR blood pressure questions.
The spring signals an end to imported fruits and lousy winter onions. But are you allergic to any of those foods? Doctor's (including me) have looked puzzled over this fact for many years: its time to get some answers! Helping me to answer YOUR questions about food allergies is Dr. Paul Ehrlich, who has written "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Children's Allergies and Asthma: Simple Steps to Help Stop Attacks and Improve Your Child's Health." If you, or a loved one, thinks they have food allergies, this would be a great time to call us at 1-877-NYU-DOCS.
Finally, if you're like me, you are thinking about getting a few of those winter pounds off (OK, more than a few, but I am trying to be optimistic!) . Doctor Ira Breite show regular Sari Greaves, RD will be on to talk about some new studies and help me (and you) with our diets. Call us at 1-877 NYU DOCS and we will be happy to answer your questions.
Of course, there's always time for ask Dr. Ira. This week, we have a really interesting case. You'll have to listen to hear about it, but all of you Ted Nugent fans will be thrilled. Call me with ANY MEDICAL QUESTION at all at 1-877-NYU-DOCS.
