I will be on the Oncology show on Sirius 114/XM 119 tomorrow from noon to 1 pm Eastern, January 7th, 2009. The topics are still pending, but no matter what they ask, I'll have an answer! Its a great time to call in with any symptoms that you have that you're worried about. There's an old joke amongst us doctors that whatever people ask, what they're really want to know is "is it cancer!" OK, we're not that funny as a profession, but its still an important issue.
If you have any questions about whether the gastrointestinal symptoms you have may represent a malignancy, give us a call at 1-877-NYU-DOCS

I heard this program and would like to ask again about family relationships and need for acolonoscopy. My father had colon CA at age 78, surgically removed, and lived to 93. My daughter had a benign polyp (possibly two) at 34, and my other daughter is 43 and we need to know when she should have first colonscopy. I am 65, have had two colonoscopies, but no polyps. Thanks,
